What is Therapy?
Therapy can mean different things to different people. The title "therapist, counsellor, Psychotherapist or Hypnotherapist " are not legally protected titles. What does that really mean?
Essentially, it means that anyone can call themselves a therapist without having formal training or qualifications. However, in the UK, there are self-regulating professional bodies recognised by the Professional Standards Authority. Many therapists, including myself, choose to register with these organisations to ensure we uphold high standards of practice.
I am a Qualified and insured Hypnotherapist, registered member of the National Hypnotherapy Society (NHS) and a Student Psychotherapist and as such a student member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). This means I adhere to their ethical frameworks and professional guidelines, which are designed to protect and support clients.
